Bisseck Replaces Haman At Cotonsport

Reigning Cameroon champions Cotonsport of Garoua have parted ways with coach Gabriel Haman. This, after the club registered a string of unsuccessful defeats.

Haman led Cotonsport to the title last term and won the coach of the year, which sadly, all comes to a halt now. The 17-time Cameroon champions look a shadow of itself and they have turned to Coach Bissek for redemption.

Qualified for the first time in 5 years to the group stage of the CAF Champions League, the team’s results have not honored the country, with humiliating results of 5 defeats in as many matches.

Locally too, Vincent Aboubakar’s erstwhile club is facing difficulties. There is a good chance that Cotonsport will not play the playoffs and therefore will not be champions or vice-champions, the two positions which give rise to the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. It is certainly the 1-0 defeat against Canon of Yaounde on that helped axe the coach out.

It is in the context of lack of results that the leaders of Cotonsport appointed Jean Baptiste Bissek. He will act as interim coach. He leaves Léopard of Douala with immediate effect. Saidou Hamadjoda, the goalkeeper coach and Hamadou Soussia, the physical trainer, already in office, will be his two assistants.
