Bryan Mbeumo Maintains Red-Hot Form After Winning Premier League Player of the Month

Bryan Mbeumo showed no signs of slowing down after collecting the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for October, heading Manchester United into the lead during their clash with Tottenham on Saturday.
The summer signing from Brentford has hit his stride at Old Trafford, carrying his blistering October form straight into November. Fresh off his first monthly award, the 26-year-old struck again in north London, rising at the far post to convert Amad Diallo’s cross just after the half-hour mark.
Before finding the breakthrough, Mbeumo had already tormented the Spurs defence, carving out a series of chances in what was another disjointed first-half display from the hosts. His persistence paid off when United recycled possession following a missed header from Patrick Dorgu’s delivery, allowing Amad to float in a teasing ball that Mbeumo buried from close range.
The goal was his fifth of the Premier League season and his fourth in as many matches as United search for a fourth win in their last five outings. Remarkably, it was also Mbeumo’s fifth career goal against Tottenham, a side he frequently punished during his Brentford days.
Mbeumo’s strike continues a brilliant run that earned him October’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month award. The Cameroon international delivered a league-high four goal involvements last month, scoring three times and assisting once as United secured three straight victories for the first time since early 2024.
He set the tone with an assist for Mason Mount in a 2–0 win over Sunderland, before giving United an early lead in their historic victory at Anfield their first there in a decade. A clinical brace against Brighton capped his award-winning month and made him United’s top scorer in the league.
Mbeumo is the first United player to collect the monthly honour since Bruno Fernandes in March 2025 and the 24th in the club’s history, extending their lead as the Premier League’s most-decorated side in the award’s history. His accolade also formed part of a club double, with head coach Ruben Amorim claiming the Manager of the Month award.
On present evidence, Mbeumo looks determined to ensure October was only the beginning.
