Dozens flooded the scenery on the occasion of the second congress of Buea United FC, and it turned out to be a massive success.
From donations; cash and kind, to pledges, stakeholders were overwhelmed with the support, and promised Elite football is ever so close.
Talking to media men after the occasion, the man behind the initiative – Kadji Valery didn’t mince words on where he wants his club stationed in the future.
‘It is an important day for Buea United, as we see from the number of supporters.
‘This day marks our journey into Elite football, no matter how many years it takes. Our ambition now is, going above a normal regional league level.
Quizzed on the aspirations of the team after an eventful congress, the man referred to, as the boss, replied;
‘We have bigger aspirations. We are looking to move to new heights.
‘I have seen true love,’ Kadji emphasized.
‘What we have to give our fans now is the best. We have to do everything to be the best football club in the Southwest.
An inquisitive reporter asked how Buea United has managed to reach heights of a professional club whilst playing in the regional championship, and president Valery’s response was quite simple.
‘The regional league doesn’t stop us from being professional. You have to behave like a professional team, on and off the pitch to join an Elite level.
‘We can assure our fans that by the end of this year, we will see two Buea United players in the international level,’ the ‘boss’ stated, to corroborate with what FIFA intermediary, Tigana Fontem had pledged during the congress session.
