CAF CC: Moussa Limane’s Scrapy Goal Avoids Embarrassing Exit For Cotonsport

Multiple Elite One champions – Cotonsport of Garoua have defeated Orapa United of Botswana (1-0) to make it through to the 3rd qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-2 tie recorded home and away.

A one – nil victory gifts Cotonsport the 3rd round ticket given the away goal rule which is still very much existent, in the African Confederation of Football.

The goal came deep into the second half and under some duress from Cotonsport’s second half substitute, Moussa Limane at the 87th minute of play.

Moussa Limane was one of the player’s in the traveling pack who played at the Botswana National Stadium on Saturday, and lost to Orapa (2-1).

The latter who was sent on loan last season to Avion due to lack of game time, saved Cotonsport from what would have been a painful and embarrassing exit.

Before Lamine’s goal, Cotonsport had missed a couple of chances with Marou and Tombi Alemi guilty of a couple.

It seems it will be a tricky road for Cotonsport who made it through to the semis last season.
