CAF CC: Nouadhibou vs. Cotonsport Ends In Dead Rubber

In the third and final round of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries, FC Nouadhibou have opened their first leg all square (0-0) against Cotonsport in Mauritania.

16 time Elite One Champions Cotonsport of Garoua was on the road this Sunday in Mauritania to face FC Nouadhibou in the first leg of the CAF Cup play-offs, and both sides ended the encounter with absolute parity.

Souleymanou Aboubakar made some big calls: keeping out goalkeeper Anye Derrick and David Kokolome, who came in from Panthere before the close of the transfer window.

The game’s intensity could clearly be read via the card board, with Cotonsport having 3 players booked as opposed to Nouadhibou’s two.

Getting a cutting edge has clearly been the issue for the Cotonites this season. This time last term, they had already netted 6 goals. A marksman to shoulder the responsibilities up top is yet to suffice in the team’s roaster – since the departure of Lambert Araina.

In three outings, Cotonsport has had to count on Marou and
Moussa limane’s goals ‘under labor.’

The two teams (Nouadhibou and Cotonsport) will meet on December 5 in Douala at the Bepanda Reunification Stadium for the reversed fixture, to determine who makes the group phase.
