CAF CC: Yanga Puts Mazembe To The Sword In DAR

TP Mazembe lost to Young Africans (YANGA) three-one Sunday, on February 19, at William Mkapa Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania).

The match counted for the 2nd day of group D of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

Picked cold through a vicious counter, the Ravens were led from the 7th minute of play, after Kennedy Musonda’s goal.

The latter was followed on the score sheet four minutes later by his teammate Mudathiri Yahya.

The “Banyangwenya” reduced the score courtesy a brilliant free kick by Alex Ngonga in the 80th minute of play.

The hope of returning to the score lasted some ten minutes before seeing the local side increase tally thanks to a goal from Tuisila Kisinda in added time.

With the defeat on the road, the pals of coach Pamphile Miyaho occupy 2nd place with 3 points, in two outings, tied with Young Africans.

Group D is led by Monastir (4 points) while Real Bamako is last with 1 point.
