CAF CCL: Mahious on target as Belouizdad inflicts Stade Abidjan’s second defeat

Stade d’Abidjan bowed 1-0 to CR Belouizdad over the weekend on game day 2 of the CAF Champions League. The Ivorian club suffered a second consecutive defeat in the tournament.

The second day of the CAF Champions League was officially launched on Saturday, December 7, 2024. It pitted Stade d’Abidjan against CR Belouizdad of Group C at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny. Having lost their first match in the competition a few weeks ago, the two opponents began the game with the common objective of winning to get back on track. At the end of the match, it was the Algerian team that got the goal.

The two clubs fought hard during the first half before going into the locker with a goalless draw. The supporters had to wait until after the break to witness the only goal of this match.

Served by Meziane Bentahar, Aymen Mahious opened the scoring in the 71st minute. CR Belouizdad led 1-0 until the end of the match and offered themselves three important points that let the club stay on course in the CAF Champions League season.
