CAF champions league: Ahly Leapfrog Hilal To Knockouts

Holders of the CAF champions league, Al-Ahly qualified for the quarter-finals of the tourney on Sunday thanks to their victory over the Sudanese side Al-Hilal (1-0).

The back-to-back trophy winners can finally breathe, having won the last qualifying ticket for the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Sunday, thanks to their victory over Al-Hilal.

It was second half substitute Hussein El-Shahat, who came off the bench for Pitso Mosimane’s men to break the Sudanese lock, following a good job and a low cross from Ahmed Abdelkader.

In the quarter-finals, the Red Devils will face one of the following group winners: Esperance de Tunis, Raja or Wydad Casablanca, all former winners of the event.
