CAF champions league: Petro wins group C with virgin tie against Al Hilal

Angolan club Petro Atletico consolidated its first place in Group C of the CAF Champions League and validated its qualification for the quarter-finals, after parity with Sudanese club Al Hilal Omdurman (0-0) at martyrs stadium in Benghazi, Libya.

The 2022 CAF champions league semi-finalists did all that was needed from Petro is now right on queue for another knockout phase in Africa’s most prestigious inter-club competition.

After the draw, Al Hilal are now tied with Esperance sportive de Tunis in second place, pending the match which will pit Etoile sportive du Sahel against ES Tunis on Saturday evening.

In case of a winner in the encounter, the second spot will automatically be occupied in the group.

There is still all to fight for come day 6 with rip roaring fixtures that will determine who ultimately sails through as group runners-up.
