CAF Champions League Prelims: Fovu Held At Home By Petro De Luanda

Cameroon lone representatives at the CAF Champions League, Fovu club of Baham, shared spoils with Petro De Luanda this Sunday, at the Omnisports Stadium Yaounde.

With this result, the 2021 Girabola vice champions head back to Angola with momentum largely weighing on their side.

The men of Olivier Nankam started the game strongly and cut open the deadlock the first quarter of an hour through experienced, EX YOSA – Midfeilder Alexandre Nsangue.

Petro De Luanda having gone one down became more adventurous and put Fovu under siege.

The Angola side struck twice in quick succession before the break, through Tiago (19,) and Azulao Bem – Vindei Jaredi (39) minute.

With the odds and tides turned against home side Fovu, head – coach decided to make some substitutions in the second half, that saw Cameroon Under-20 international and former Djiko FC striker, Stephan Ikpeme – make his way in.

Ikpeme scored at the depth and helped two – time Cameroon cup champions secure parity.
