CAF CL: Ahly Returns To Winning Ways Against Al Merrikh

Al Ahly headed home with precious three points from their game against Al Merreikh (3-1) on match day 5 of the group stage in the CAF champions league.

Having gone down to defeat last weekend against Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (1-0), Al Ahly returned to winning ways on Friday March 18.

Percy Pau opened the scoring at the 19th minute, then, Mohamed Sherif scored at the 72nd minute, before Ahmed Abdelkader sent the away team home and dry with a 73rd minutes goal that sealed it.

Pitso’s men had a scare when Ramadan Agab scored a goal for Al Merrikh at the 60th minute, but it turned out only to be a scare, as two goals in quick succession from the Red Devils snatched the tie.

After the victory, the Red Devils are well on course to making the quarter finals via the second spot in Group A behind Mamelodi Sundowns lengths behind the South Africans, leaders, who will face Al Hilal tomorrow, Saturday March 18.
