CAF CL: Belouizdad Tied Neck-On-Neck With Tunis, After Sahel Victory

Algerian reps. CR Belouizdad ensured her qualification to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, winning 2-0 against ES Sahel on match day 5 of group C, played on Saturday evening at 5 July 5th stadium in Algiers.

Belouizdad’s goals were scored by Sofiane Bouchar at the 3rd minute, and Islam Belkhir, at the 18th minute in the first half.

In the other Group C match played earlier on Sunday in Fransistown (Botswana), ES Tunis beat Jwaning Galaxy 3-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals.

At the end of the match day 5, ES Tunis and CR Belouizdad jointly occupy first spot in group C with 11 points, ahead of ES Sahel (3 pts) and Jwaneng Galaxy (1 pt).

On match day 6 – scheduled for April 1st and 2nd, CR Belouizdad will travel to Tunis to face ES Tunis, while the second Tunisian club, ES Sahel, will host Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy.
