CAF CL: ES Tunis Leave It Late In Stalemate Against Belouizdad

CR Belouizdad and ES Tunis shared the spoils with a 1-1 score in their CAF champions league clash that obtained on Saturday.

A draw which somewhat reflected the balance of both sides present in the hotly contested match.

CR Belouizdad started the game with a bang and managed to take the lead in the first quarter of an hour.

Karim Arribi gave the keeper the eyes in the fifteenth minute of the game from the spot, to make it 1-0 for Belouizdad.

Belouizdad tried to manage the lead but invited more pressure on themselves as they sat deep. In trying to maintain the lead and being cautious, Belouizdad messed up their shape, that led to goalkeeper Ahmed Abdelkader, conceding a goal at 41st minute, eventually denied by the referee for offside. That was however a red signal of where the game was headed.

ES Tunis kept pressing even after the break. At the 68th minute, Kingsley Eduwo found himself one v one against the Keeper of belouizdadi, but flopped his lines.

It was only logically that Esperance restored the parity in the 82nd minute courtesy Zied Machmoum.

He headed a well-drilled corner to the left of the CRB goalkeeper. The Algeria representatives rushed to ES’ camp to try to regain the advantage without any end product. ES Tunis lead group C with 4 points, followed by Belouizdad and ES Sahel with two points each.
