CAF CL: ES Tunis Shimmy Pass Belouizdad Scare To End Top In Group C

For their 6th and last match in Group C, Esperance of Tunis beat Algerian opponents, CR Belouizdad, who had already qualified.

The both teams were already through to the quarter finals and Belouizdad was only trying to dethrone ES Tunis to top spot.

The goals for the men in red and gold came from Sabir Bougrine at the 13th minute, and Iwuala, four minutes after. In response to the visitors’ first goal scored in the 2nd minute, by Eddine Mrezigue.

And so, it turned out to be a win-win draw for both sides who shuck hands and headed to the next round.

ES Tunis finished with 14 points, while Belouizdad ended with 11 points. ES Sahel and Jwaneng Galaxy ended on the 3rd and 4th positions with 6 and 1 points respectively.
