CAF CL: Petro, EST settle for goalless draw

Esperance sportive de Tunis drew (0-0) against Petro Luanda on Tuesday evening, in game day 4 of group C in the TotalEnergies CAF champions league.

Opting from the start for a defensive strategy, EST quickly found itself under pressure.

The latter had several opportunities to score during the first half, but failed to realize them, coming up against a very vigilant Esperance keeper.

In the second half, Esperance de Tunis was more organized in attack, managing to threaten the opposing camp, notably thanks to Rodriguo Rodriguez in the 65th minute, whose shot was repelled by the Petro defense.

The ‘blood and orange’ thus managed to bring back a point which allows them to rank, provisionally, second (5 points) behind the Petro Luanda (8 points).

This is the second draw in a row for EST after that of the previous day against the same opponent, on December 9 in Radès.
