CAF CL: Sagrada Claim Vital Point Against Zamalek

Sagrada Esperança making only her third appearance in the prestigious CAF champions league was able to steal a point from the White Knights of Zamalek.

Just like sister club Petro de Luanda had caused a major upset with their victory over WAC, it was Sagrada’s turn, against the 5-time winners of the CAF Champions league, Zamalek.

No winners emerged as part of the 2nd day between the two in group D.

With this stalemate, the Angolan club Esperança, who played at home, recorded their first point in the tournament, after their 3-0 defeat in the hands of Wydad Athletic club on the first day. As for the Zamalek, it is their second draw in as many games. With two points, they occupy 3rd place in the group.

Sagrada Esperanca will be involved in a derby in the competition when they log horns against Petro on February 26th.
