CAF CL: Sundowns share spoils with AS FAR
The Brazilians had another share of spoils in the Caf Champions League after blowing away a lead on Saturday night.
Following a goalless first half, Sundowns took the lead in the 66th minute when Iqraam Rayners scored from a counter-attack by goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
But the hosts hit back after eight minutes through captain Mohamed Hrimat who connected a Youseef El Fahli cross.
It ended 1-1 at the Stade Ben Ahmed El Abdi with Masandawana failing to collect maximum points for a second straight Champions League outing.
For a team that used to be dominant in the Champions League group stages in recent seasons, it’s not a good read for Masandawana right now.
They have two points from as many group games and that leaves them third on the table.
The Brazilians now prepare for another Champions League fixture against Moroccan opponents again when they host Raja Casablanca on December 15.
A day earlier, FAR Rabat would have visited AS Maniema Union as the battler to take control of Group B continues.
