CAF Confed Cup: Cotonsport End Winless In Group C

Last season’s CAF Confederations Cup semi-finalists, Cotonsport of Garoua are out of his year’s competition as bottom placed in group C, after losing to AS Otoho (0-1) in Garoua.

Not that the two teams had their destinies in hand, it was rather playing to salvage some pride at home for Cotonsport.

Coach Aboubakar Souleymanou fighting on two fronts: Elite One and Confed Cup, left part of his team in Limbe, South West, whilst leaving out Souaibou, who just returned from international duties.

On the contrary, young Wassou was thrown into the mix, fresh from his historic call up with Cameroon’s senior men’s selection.

Otoho d’Oyo who arrived late in Garoua, a reason for the shifting of time to 8 pm, looked the more energetic in the start.

Mamadou Cissé scored at the 7th minute, and Otoho led the game till the end.

Cotonsport are yet to win a game in the year of 2022, and the Garoua-based side is currently on a rough patch even in the league.

AS Otoho finished with 8 points, two behind Al Masry with 8, and three behind Mazembe (11). Cotonsport are rock bottom with 3 points in group C.
