CAF Confed Cup: Ittihad Defeat Pirates In 5-Goal Thriller

On the occasion of the second day in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, Al Ittihad Tripoli stunned Orlando Pirates (3-2).

The side from Libya won via a three-two margin. Al Ittihad Tripoli, playing at the international stadium of Tripoli, registered her first victory in the Confederation Cup by leapfrogging Orlando Pirates (3-2).

Sanad Al Warfali opened scoring a minute to the first quarter of the game, Muad Eisay doubled the advantage for the home side, and Omar Al Khouja put a cap on an exquisite performance with his 53rd minute goal, to gift Al Ittihad the victory.

Bandile Shandu who had some personal moments for the Pirates, was the author of a double at the 26th and 45th minutes, but his goals weren’t enough in the topsy-turvy tie.

Thanks to this victory, Al Ittihad joins Pirates as joint top in group B with three points.

It should be recalled that the first match of the Libyan club against Royal Leopards was postponed for March 6th.
