CAF Confed Cup: Mimosas Rebound With Victory Over Berkane

After their first game in the Confederation Cup ended in defeat to Tanzanian club Simba, Asec Mimosas had to recover and come back to contention in their meeting which opposed
2020 CAF Confederation Cup champions, RS Berkane on Sunday.

In the 2nd day of play that took place Cotonou, Benin, the lads of Asec tried to force-open the lock of Berkane’s defense without much success in the first half.

Back from the locker room, striker Aziz Ki will didn’t take long to light the first fuse, at the 58th minute of play, to the delight of his teammates and the Asec supporters present at the stadium.

Seven minutes later, he was followed by Souleymane Coulibaly who will dragged the score to 2 goals to 0 in favor of the yellow and black.

Hungry for more, the players of Julien Chevalier will carried through and Karim Konaté added on a superb sequence.

Their adversaries on the day (RS Berkane) managed to reduce the score in what was adjudged to be a consolation.

Finally, Asec Mimosas won with a 3-1 score line and relaunched her competition, especially as in the other match of group D, the two teams separated on a parity. The yellow and black are therefore second in the standings with 3 points, a point behind the leaders SC Simba who has 4.
