CAF Confed Cup: Pirates Get A Foothold In Group D

It was a totally unsurprising victory for Orlando Pirates team as they defeated Royal Leopards!

The South African club won against Royale Leopards 3-0 on Sunday, March 13, on match day four of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The victory brings Orlando Pirates closer to qualifying for the quarter-finals. Playing this time at home for the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup, Orlando Pirates nailed Royale Leopards 3-0, making a total of 9-2 as per aggregate in the first leg and return.

Makaringe opened the scoring in the 48th minute of the game, in a first half heavily dominated by the Pirates. Dlamini doubled the score in the 56th minute after returning from the the pose.

In an encounter utterly dominated by hosts, the third goal eventually came through Dzvukamanja.

After the defeat, Royale Leopards thus lost any chance of continuing the competition, being last in group B with zero points. Orlando Pirates top Group B with 9 points.
