CAF Confed Cup: Simba Blow Away USGN, Slides Into Quarter Finals

Simba SC concluded their regular group stage campaign with a 4-0 mauling of USGN of Niger.

The result was good enough to take the Tanzanian juggernauts through to the quarter finals of the CAF Confederations Cup especially as Berkane defeated second-place chasers ASEC Mimosas 1-0 in the other game.

Goals from Simba came deep into the second half, with Sadio Kanouté breaking the deadlock at the 63rd minute.

31-year-old Congolese forward Crispin Mutshimba scored twice in quick succession to move Simba’s tally to three at the 68th and 78th minutes respectively.

An own goal from USGN goalkeeper Saidu Hamisu put the gloss on the scoreline, as players of Simba were told at the end of happenings elsewhere, that led to their qualification.
