CAF Confed Cup: Simba Puts An Exclamation Point To Berkane’s Away Woes

Renaissance of Berkane lost on the patch of Tanzanian club Simba, by 1 goal to 0, in Dar Es-Salam on Sunday.
It was on the occasion of match day 4 in group D of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The only goal of the match was scored by Pape Sakho in the 44th minute.

After the end of the match day, Berkane dropped to third place with 6 pts, swopping positions with their opponents on the day (Simba), who advanced as leaders of the group with 7 points.

The other match of the group was played at the between ASEC Mimosas and the National Gendarmerie Sports Union (USGN) of Niger. ASEC defeated USGN to climb to Second spot(6 pts).

Renaissance of Berkane has not yet managed to win an away game in the group phase.

The latter’s six points were harvested at home against the US National Gendarmerie 5-3 on match day 1, and against Simba (2-0) on match day 3.

To pick a ticket for the next round, Berkane are called upon to do better during their next outing with the USGN, on March 20, and to impress before their fans, when they receive ASEC on April 2.

The mission does not promise to be easy, in a group where the positions are close together and everyone believes in their chances of qualification.
