CAF EXCO Elections: Mustapha Raji, another chapter of success!
Liberia Football Association (LFA) president Mustapha Raji will run unopposed in the upcoming Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee elections.
There couldn’t be a better fit in the decision makers’ circles. An erstwhile Telecommunications expert, Raji has made significant transformations in Liberia’s football, and now, will continue to do same amidst CAF bigwigs.
Mustapha Raji’s unopposed bid for re-election to the CAF Executive Committee is a strong indicator of the respect and support he has earned within the African football community.
His victory over Antonio Souare in the election to represent the WAFU Zone A on the committee further showcases his leadership and influence in the region.
Raji’s first term has already left a significant mark, particularly with his successful proposal to have FIFA host the U-17 Youth Tournament annually.
This move could have long-lasting benefits for the development of youth football across Africa, providing more opportunities for young talents to showcase their skills.
The Elections will take place during CAF’s 14th Extraordinary Congress tomorrow in Cairo, Egypt.
Raji is among the 9 candidates cleared by CAF to contest in the EXCO elections and is the sole contender for the West African Football Union (WAFU) A slot.
Raji equally serves as vice-president of CAF Organizing Committee for youth Football (U23/U20/U23) and a member of the AFCON organizing committee.
