CAF Hits Comoros With Tough Sanctions

The Round 16 game between Cameroon and Comoros, described by many as having had ingredients of the; good, bad, and ugly — has attracted aftermath sanctions for team Comoros.

In a press release published on Thursday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), announced on their social media spaces, tough sanctions against the Comoros Island. Amid the sanctions, a fine to the Comoran Football Federation (FFC) of over $17,000 for “the delay caused by their players”. A delay of two minutes, caused by an error in the jersey number, for which the FFC. CAF also believes that the Comoros did not respect the health protocol. And finally, the suspension of goalkeeper coach Jean-Daniel Noel Patrice Padovani, accused of “disrespectful behavior”.

Comoros was Eliminated by Cameroon in the round of 16. Their first participation in the African Cup of Nations will go down in the history books for numerous reasons.
