CAF Women’s CL: AS FAR Puts A Spanner In The Works Of Buffaleos

This is the second time in a row that the Moroccan club has reached the semis of the continental tournament, after that of last year.

On Wednesday evening, against Green Buffaloes FC, the Moroccan Armed Forces Association won 2-1.

It was at Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, where the host club overpowered the Zambians.

Green Buffaloes striker Ireen Lungu opened the scoring in the 19th minute. The Zambian side couldn’t keep that before the break, conceding a Fatima Tagnaout’s equalizer in the 30th minute. Tagnaout, the star of the Moroccan women’s national team completed her double in the evening on a penalty at the hour mark. With this 2-1 victory, AS FAR qualified before the last game. 2022 Women’s CAF UCL Finals.

After two match days, AS FAR occupies the first place with 6 points and could keep it with a simple draw against Determine Girls in the third round of matches in group A.

With 3 points and a runners-up spot, Green Buffaloes can still qualify in a crucial final clash against Simba Queens of Tanzania.
