CAF Women’s CL: Bayelsa Queens Dispatch Mazembe, Keeps Semis Dream Intact

Nigeria’s Bayelsa Queens picked up their first three points of the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League on match day 2.

It was on Thursday night against TP Mazembe. Bayelsa Queens lost their opener to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Monday.

On Nov. 4, they made up for it with success. The Nigerian team won 2-0 against TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Marrakech, Morocco.

Ogoma Joseph opened the scoring in the 3rd minute via the penalty spot, before Chinyere Igbomalu’s second goal in the 24th.

Bayelsa Queens can advance to the semi-finals if they beat Wadi Degla on Sunday night in Rabat. However, TP Mazembe must not drop points against Mamelodi Sundowns who are already qualified in their Group B, if they wish to sail through to the semis.
