Cameroon Ends CHAN 2023 Prep. With Victory Over Sudan

For their third and last preparation game before departure for Algeria, the intermediate Lions won via a 2-0 margin over Sudan in Tunisia.

After three consecutive draws by the same score (1-1) against Eding Sport, Uganda and Côte d’Ivoire, Saidou Alioum’s men were keen to win on Monday afternoon in order to refuel thier confidence one week before the start of the tournament.

Facing the Nile crocodiles of Sudan, Cameroon dominated in all aspects and opened the scores in the 35th minute. The goal came about from an error by the Sudanese goalkeeper, and Roche Foning, put Cameroon in front before the break (1-0).

Upon return from the locker room, same scenario was witnessed. Saidou Alioum completely had an overhaul of his team.

Cameroon scored the second goal after Ramsès Donfack, tricked his way from the back line and then served Arthur Avom for 2-0. Despite the second goal, Cameroon stayed focused and did not concede.

The Intermediate Lions therefore end their preparations phase with a victory, which was slow to one but eventually did. As a reminder, Cameroon will face Congo Brazzaville on January 16 in Oran for their first game in the African Nations Championship..
