Cameroon Enters Decisive Phase In FIBA WC Qualifiers

The Basketball Lions of Cameroon have been drawn in group B of the first round, in the upcoming 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification, with the tournament set to begin in November 2021 and will conclude in February 2023. The process is earmarked to determine the five African teams that will participate at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

The Basketball Lions will pit; South Sudan, Tunisia and Rwanda, to try and make it through to the third and final round, before playing for direct qualification.

With a change of coaching personnel; Lazare Adingono leaving his place for former French power forward – Sacha Giffa, Cameroon is expected to pick up the pieces from a dismal Afrobasket in Kigali, Rwanda.

Cameroon starts her process on February 25, 2022 against Tunisia at the Dakar Arena, before following up with match-ups against Rwanda and South Sudan on February 26th and 27th respectively.
