Cameroon vs Malawi: Journalists Boycott Pre Match Presser
Hours before the Cameroon vs Malawi game, jouranalists have aired their dissatisfaction with the decision not to allow media organs access to the game, by boycotting the pre match press conference of the indomitable Lions.
A good number of Journalists were present at the Omnisports Amadou Ahidjo stadium when the news dropped from the Cameroon Football Federation;
The Cameroon Football Federation informs media professionals that due to the Covid19 protocols in line with two football institutions (CAF and FIFA), Journalists will not be authorised to take part in the game pitting Cameroon vs Malawi on September 3 2021.
No media organ has thereby been accreditated to cover the game Cameroon against Malawi.
The president of the Association of Sports Journalists – Marc Chouamo then ensured that a message was passed, by informing media professionals that there will be no question and answer session during the presser.
After the traditional 15 minutes to view the training session of the Lions; captain Aboubakar and coach Conceiçao were told outrightly that there will be no press conference as the tension in the room became heated.
Marc Chouamo spoke on behalf of the Association of Spots journalists and Journalists all moved out.
One of the Lions staff mister Feerdinand Makouta told the press that he will do all in his powers to talk to the Minister of Sports and at the level of the federation, that the decision is overruled.
‘There is something someone is hiding in the Olembe Stadium,’ a Journalist who choosed to remain ananymous revealed to sportsglitz.net. ‘i covered the game CAR played against Cape Verde in our country yesterday. It is absurd that I am denied the opportunity to cover a football event in Cameroon,’ he ended.
Cameroon plays against Malawi in the opener of the World Cup qualifiers tomorrow September 3.
