Cameroon vs Malawi: Who Is To Be Blamed For The ‘Absolute Closed Doors’?

The World Cup Qualifiers game pitting Cameroon against Malawi, tipped to be an inaugural game of the 60 – thousand, state of the art Olembe Sports complex has been declared to take place behind absolutely closed doors (without the presence of media organs).

The announcement which came in as a bombshell saw Journalists riot at the Lions’ Pre match presser that was supposed to take place at the Amadou Ahidjo stadium.

Generally, veteran Journalists termed it a fiasco after the announcement had been made by the communication department of FECAFOOT.

Sportsglitz.net in the search for an explanation on who did not do what, received feedback that someone at the Cameroon Football Federation was not going his or her job.

The next Lions opponent; Cote D’Ivoire, was allowed 10,000 places by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after a proper planning on sanitary measures put in place by the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), to shimmie pass the Covid19. Same was done for Senegal and a host of other African football nations.

As per reports from a reliable source, due to the ‘cold war’ in Cameroon between the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, with the Cameroon FA (FECAFOOT), the federation decided not to write to CAF regarding the game to be played at Olembe on September 3.

Without any road map by the federation on how barrier measures will be put in place to stop the spread of Covid19, CAF then decided to completely bar even Journalists from covering the game.

Magil managing director Franck Ropita told reporters on camera earlier this month that the turf and seats of the stadium was completed, and all that was left, was the esplanade.
