Cameroon’s Ovambe Shortlisted Alongside Malo & Oliseh For Comoros Job

Cameroonian coach Mathurin Ovambe has been shortlisted as a possible replacement for Amir Abdou, in the dugouts of the Coelacanths.

Ovambe is up alongside; EX Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh, erstwhile Burkinabe coach Kamou Malo, and assistant to Amir Abdou — at the AFCON, Younes Zerdouk.

A tough race altogether, looking at the pedigree and achievements of those going up against Ovambe, but its all worth it.

Mathurin Ovambe is a fan of the Comoros and believes that Coach Amir Abdou laid a solid foundation, that can only go higher.

Ovambe, the first professional black Manager to be appointed in Italy Professional football with Bellaria Calcio in Serie C2, trained most of the youngsters who made Italy proud at the 2020 European Championship.

Ovambe is a holder of the UEFA license, and has had stints at Bangor City, Rotherham United football Academy, after a successful spells at Rwanda’s FC Mukura.

The British based coach of Cameroon descend, assisted in the pre season camp of premier league outfit – Crystal Palace, where he had extensive talks with coach Patrick Vieira.

With a solid base of nurturing, Ovambe’s profile equally does justice, placed side-by-side others.

Sportsglitz.net understands that assistant coach Younes Zerdouk will be left to do the job when Comoros plays her friendly on March 25. After which, the Comoros football federation will take an ultimate decision on who replaces Amir Abdou.
