Cantona Sends Avion Crashing

Djiko FC put their feet on the gas pedal on match day 9 of the MTN Elite One with victory over strugglers, Avion Academy in Bandjoun.

Avion are seemingly the whopping boys of group A and teams in the pool are taking rounds. Djiko’s turn wasn’t going to be any different.

Avion took the early lead at the 13th minute but let slip in what is becoming a trademark manner of starting quickly, but then, letting slide when it matters.

As Avion had their wounds to lick, a star was born in Bandjoun. Eric Cantona Ndoukoumi scored a brace.

First off, was an equalizer at the brink of halftime (45+3). Things then fell apart for coach Ngambe David and his charges as he contest weighed on.

Cantona sealed the win for his team 10 minutes from time to put a smile on the home fans who watched on with desperation.

The win gets Djiko to 8th in group A with 11 points, while Avion continue to languish down the underside of the table with just 6 points in 9 games played.
