CAS Confirms Dissolution Of The Cameroon Professional League

The Court Of Arbitration For Sports (CAS) has ruled against the Cameroon professional football league, and awarded FECAFOOT the decision on November 4, 2020 relative to the league’s dissolution, citing the September 14, 2020 sentence.

The verdict was made public in the early hours of Thursday August 12.

The championship could only resume on the command of the state, but Semengue’s party awaited another result from the Court Of Arbitration For Sports on the issue of the league’s dissolution.

In the past months, the tension between football stakeholders have decreased but a decision from the Court Of Arbitration was needed to completely give reason to FECAFOOT, and vindictive interim FECAFOOT President Seidou Mbobo Njoya.

Flashback to late October last year, LFPC head – General Pierre Semengue was in a tussle with FECAFOOT president Seidou Mbobo Njoya and prepared to kick – start the 2020/2021 campaign on Sunday November 1, 2020.

The so called opening encounter pitting Cotonsport against Panthere turned out to be a false start of the league.

FECAFOOT kept her officials from officiating as they had a seminar on the same date earmarked by Gen. Pierre Semengue (Sunday November 1).

It was the second time quick succession the league was having a false start. A familiar scenario was the 2018/2019 season at the Military Stadium. That time, teams didn’t even show up.
