CHAN 2022: Niger’s Harouna Doula puts pressure on Cameroon

Coach Harouna Doula Gabde thinks pressure is on Cameroon to deliver and not his Niger team as the both side’s prepare for a showdown in the last group E encounter of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship on Tuesday.

“We have no pressure,” Doula stated on Cafonline before adding: “It is Cameroon that has pressure of the result.

“We shall approach the game searching for a victory and to cause problems for our opponents. We must avoid being exposed,” a determined Harouna Doula reiterated.

Niger started their TotalEnergies African Nations Championship campaign with a zero-all tie against the Congo Republic after sitting out match day one.

Nothing less than a victory ticks the box for Niger. Doula Gabde hopes to work on Cameroon’s weaknesses against Congo to defeat the intermediate Lions.

“We saw the mistakes that they made when they were under pressure from the Congolese in their first game. We shall draw some inspiration from that ahead of our game,” ended Doula.

Niger has been in search of an illusive quarter-finals spot since the made it pass the group stage in 2011, in Sudan.
