CHAN 2022: Senegal Edge CIV To Go Top In Group B

The home based Teranga Lions beat their Ivorian counterparts 1-0 to temporarily go top on the 1st day of Group B of the CHAN 2022 African Nations Championship.

The match was played on Saturday evening at the May 19, 1956 stadium in Annaba.

Senegal’s goal came courtesy Pape Diallo in the 78th minute.

In the other Group B match played earlier on Saturday, the national teams of DR Congo and Uganda drew (0-0).

On match day two of Group B, scheduled for Wednesday at the May 19, 1956 stadium in Annaba, DR Congo will face Côte d’Ivoire (5:00 p.m.), while Senegal will face Uganda (8:00 p.m.).

The group was tagged group of death from the onset and it is already shaping to be intriguing after the first day.
