CHAN Prep: Bawak Assists Helps Intermediate Lions To Narrowly Edge Canon

The Eding Sports duo of Mbah Louis and Harrison Djonkep scored in the second half to escape Canon’s clutch and defeat the yaounde outfit by two goals to 1.

Having been in camp for a little under 14 days, the intermediate Lions faced their first real test against Canon of Yaounde Wednesday, Dec 21.

Canon took the lead through teenage sensation Emmanuelle Mahop at the 38th minute, and that was it for the first segment.

Coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck made over 6 changes in the second segment. Saidou Alioum’s men then found some rhythm and hit back.

Harrison Djonkep stroke at the 55th minute to level matters. At the 80th minute, his club mate – Mbah Louis scored the game’s winner from a sumptuous cross by right back, Thomas Etta Bawak.

The Intermediate Lions will be given a 3 days break in the days ahead, after which the team will head to Algeria for the African Nations Championship penciled for January 13.

Cameroon Is housed in group E alongside Niger and Congo. In the last competition hosted in 2020 by Cameroon, the intermediate Lions ended fourth.
