Choupo Moting Scores In Bundesliga’s ‘David vs Goliath’ Clash

German champions Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga summit following a familiar 2-0 victory away at Schalke 04.

A clash between David and Goliath was never going to be dull, as both sides – sitting on opposing ends of the Bundesliga table – got off to an energetic start at the Veltins Arena.

Bayern Munich won 2-0 at last-placed Schalke to head into the World Cup break top of the Bundesliga.

Jamal Musiala set up Serge Gnabry’s opener with a lovely backheel late in the first half and then teed up Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to double the visitors’ lead in the 52nd minute.

It was Bayern’s 10th straight victory in all competitions while Schalke sit five points from safety.

It was Choupo Moting’s 6th Bundesliga goal and his 11th in all competitions just before the Indomitable Lions head to Qatar for the FIFA world cup.
