Coca-Cola FIFA Ranking: Cameroon Beats Algeria, Wins Big!

Coming from a 3rd place finish in the African Cup of Nations, the Indomitable Lions have gained 12 places in the FIFA ranking of seeded nations and found themselves 38th in the world.

The world ranking of seeded nations was updated on February 07, 2022 by FIFA.

The World Football Governing body (FIFA) unveiled its ranking of nations a day after the end of the 2021 AFCON won by Senegal and coach Aliou Cisse.

Algeria are the big losers in this new ranking. The desert foxes were eliminated in the group stage of AFCON and fell to 7th position on the continent. Senegal, thanks to their historic victory, consolidates her first place and rises to 18th place on the world scale.

Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt and Tunisia completes the Top 5 in Africa. 6th in Africa, Cameroon are now 38th in the world and will now go into the World Cup play-off match against Algeria by being better ranked than their adversaries although the Foxes are considered better on paper.
