Complete CAF Confederations Cup Draws And Analysis

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) finalized the draw for the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup. In the absence of RS Berkane, defending champions who were eliminated during qualifying rounds by US Monastir, TP Mazembe, two time winners of the competition relegated from the Champions League, are the favourites.

The Ravens of Lubumbashi inherited a tricky group D with precisely the Young Africans, who are always formidable, and Real Bamako of Mali.

Due to the fact that there are several Congolese present in the side of Yanga, mostly players who formerly played for Vita Club, it could be termed some kind of derby.

Also considered among the favorites, are FAR Rabat who will make two trips to Egypt against Pyramids FC, unfortunate finalists in 2020, and equally Future FC, present for the first time at this level.

Kicked out of the Champions League, ASEC Mimosas will go to Central Africa to challenge the Black Devils and DCMP. Group B which includes Rivers United, certainly will be an open affair.

In group A, USM Alger will be the favorites but before them are FC Saint Éloi Lupopo, Marumo Gallants (South Africa) and Al Akhdar SC (Libya), all debutants at this level, who could also have a say as well.

The inter-club competitions start on February 12. The top two from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
