Cotonsport Vs. Sundowns: ‘We expect a good game’ – Rhulani
Coach Rhulani Mokwena has uttered that his Sundowns team expects Cotonsport to come out guns blazing on Friday, on match day two of the TotalEnergies CAF champions league.
The 36-year-old trainer made the statement upon arrival at the Garoua international airport on Wednesday.
“We expect a very good game on Friday,” Rhulani opined after commending Cotonsport for their quality;
“All group B games are big ones. Cotonsport are well coached. They are doing very well in the domestic league with good players. We have done our homework. We look forward to the game,’ stated the tactician.
Cotonsport will be making its first appearance in the competition come Friday after the 17-time Elite One winners were made to wait on game day one, due to Ahly’s involvement in the FIFA club world cup.
The Masandawa are however cautious of Cotonsport who are considered by bookies as the underdogs in group B.
“Now we’re watching out for everybody. Cotonsport is watching out for Sundowns, same way Sundowns is watching out for Cotonsport, and Ahly are looking out for Hilal. That’s what happens when you have four good teams in a group.”
Quizzed on his team selection, the Johannesburg native echoed that there will hardly be any change, with Sundowns set to play how they did in the last couple of games.
“We always try to have a very good team on the pitch, a team which is able to perform – and try to get results. We will always do our best to try and win a football match,” the gaffer ended.
Mamelodi Sundowns are top of the group B standing after a hard fought victory against Al Hilal of Omdurman last week. Another victory for Downs will see them move further clear the table with 6 points.
