Crisis-Struck Cotonsport Gives Coach Souleymanou A ‘Matching Order’

Due to a queue of bad results in the CAF Confederations Cup and the MTN Elite One Championship, coach Aboubakar Souleymanou, lead trainer of Cotonsport has indefinitely been suspended.

Assistant coach Haman Gabriel has been picked as the interim for the meantime.

Cotonsport of Garoua are winless in 11 games at the continental scene and in the local league, winless since the start of this year.

The Cotonites have recorded 5 draws and 6 defeats, with the latest coming via the clutches of Avion Football Club.

Aboubakar Souleymanou helped Cotonsport to its 16th Elite One title in 2021 – plus, to the semis of the CAF Confederations Cup last season.

This season, however, has been filled with lots of inconsistency, as Souleymanou lost most of his first team players in the transfer window.
