Crowd Accompany Drogba ‘To Take Over FIF’

Didier Drogba was at the headquarters of the Ivorian football federation on Sunday afternoon to post his candidacy for the elections to the helm of the Ivory coast Football Federation.

A crowd of admirers were at hand to support the Chelsea legend.

infact, there were many fans who who had already been at the scenery, hours before Drogba’s arrival.

Amid fans who came out to support Drogba, were: Tonton Zela (musician), and ‘Le Magnific,’ a comedian.

The action was a statement of intent but but the next step in a fortnight will be the most important.

Before leaving the scene, Drogba made a speech in which he promised the rebirth of Ivorian football if he is elected on April 23.

‘My candidacy is that of unity. I want to stay in the momentum of the development of Ivorian football instilled by the Head of State 10 years ago. The change of Ivorian football is set for April 23. If on the evening of April 23 I am elected president of the FIF, I will reach out to the two other candidates to work together. I am for the rebirth of Ivorian football,’ the 2012 champions league winner ended.
