Delmas Bassomben: EX EFBC Captain Joins Apejes

18 – year – old former EFBC skipper, Simon Delmas Bassomben has joined Elite One outfit, Apejes of Mfou on atwo year deal – renewable.

A popular name in youth football, Delmas served in Junior categories at Ecole De Football Brasseries for over four years, joining in when at a tender age.

He’s a leader, winner and playmaker – and was one of those who shaped EFBC on the last couple of seasons. Bassomben had made more than 50 competitive appearances in the prestigious Academy, in competitions like the; Cameroon Cup, Geremi Njitap Cup, the Easter Cup and the December tournament. The centre-back played a leading role in perhaps one of the more successful generations in the club’s history last term, as he led the side to the R16 of the Cameroon Cup.

Bassomben is a defensive strategist who’s strong in the tackle and in the air, and will be hoping to hold down a regular starting berth and became a key factor in the Apejes’ build-up play. His pinpoint, deep long balls are always an effective weapon, particularly against deep-lying opponents.

Apejes, meanwhile, have gotten for themselves a great lad, especially with the reported departure of Samuel Kotto. The 2021/2022 Elite One runners up seek to better last seasons record, when the new campaign commences later this month.
