Dieng-Less Ahly to face Belouizdad in postponed CAF champions league fixture

Experienced 2023 AFCON campaigner Aliou Dieng, will miss out of the titanic clash pitting Ahly to Belouizdad.

Al Ahly have confirmed the absence of Aliou Dieng from the team’s match against CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League due to injury.

Dieng continues his rehabilitation program and physiotherapy at the gym alongside Al-Ahly’s group training sessions held this morning at El-Tetsh Stadium.

The Malian international sustained the injury while playing for his national team in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, Head of the medical staff at Al Ahly, stated that Aliou Dieng is still undergoing his training program to recover from the knee bruise he recently suffered.

The doctor confirmed that Dieng won’t make it to the CR Belouizdad match and will continue his training and rehabilitation program in Cairo, based on the results of the medical tests and scans he’s undergoing.

Al Ahly is preparing to face CR Belouizdad in a postponed match from the fourth round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

Al-Ahly leads Group D with 5 points, tied on points with CR Belouizdad but ahead on goal difference.
