Diouf PICKS Onana over Song and Eto’o
Former Senegalese striker El Hadji Diouf spoke about the Onana being relegated to the bench at AFCON 2023, in his most recent outing.
On the airwaves of La 3, El Hadji Diouf elaborated on Onana’s case with the Indomitable Lions.
To recall, out of 4 matches played by Cameroon, the Manchester United goalkeeper only played one.
Even the decisive match against Nigeria in the round of 16, he was left on the bench.
A choice that former Bolton striker El Hadji Diouf does not support:
“André Onana is someone I respect a lot and I congratulate him for what he does and for the love he has for his team.
“Today, how can you have an Onana, a very great goalkeeper who plays for Manchester United and you don’t make him play the match in the round of 16? For me, it’s a lack of respect and if I were a player, I wouldn’t agree with that.” Diouf ended.
El Hadji Diouf was caught on Camara, smiling and jubilating wildly in front of Eto’o when Senegal won their group C game against the Indomitable Lions. The tension is still be palpable till this point.
