Early Yassine Meriah header takes Esperance to the CAF champions league Quarter-finals

The group stage of the 2023/2024 edition of the CAF Champions League ended with a victory and qualification of Esperance Tunis on Saturday.

In Radès, the “red and gold” only needed one point to validate their qualifications for the quarter-finals against Al-Hilal, that was obliged to win to validate its ticket.

A header from a corner by defender, Yassine Meriah (23rd) was enough for the Tunisians to win 1-0.

In the other match of the group, the other Tunisian club, Etoile du Sahel, already eliminated, bit the dust by losing 2-0 in Angola against Petro Atletico, first in the group and already qualified.

Jonathan Toro (38th) and Julinho (71st) got the two goals for Petro.
