El Masry’s Mbella Etouga Undergoes Surgery After Sight Loss
Cameroonian forward Mbella Etouga has undergone successful surgery after he lost 52% of his sight due to an overdue injury, sportglitz.com has learned.
According to Egyptian Journalist Hady Elmadany, the 21-year-old’s injury dates back to his time at Kumasi giants Asante Kotoko.
Mbella will only be apt after a period of 6 months, which rules him out for the rest of this season.
Etouga arrived Egypt with a huge reputation having had a stellar 2021/22 season with 21 goals in 30 appearances.
Prior to the impact of his long-term injury, Etouga scored once in 8 appearances for Masry, gathering a total of 495 minutes in the Egyptian Championship.
Coach Hassan Hossam will look to get a makeshift replacement for Mbella so as to get the 2022 CAF inter-club campaigners higher than 8th, after 8 game days.
The Port said based club must now dust themselves from the sad update, and prepare for the League game against National Bank tomorrow April 25.
