Elanga Ditch Cameroon For Sweden

Born to a Cameroonian Dad in Malmo, Sweden, Anthony Elanga, Son to Joseph Elanga, has pledged his allegiance to Sweden, and not Cameroon.

The latter has been called up by the Swedish national team, for the WC qualifiers, and has officially given his ‘okay’.

The move goes a long way to show that the youngster wasn’t convinced at all after coach Rigobert Song’s visit to England, and he’d be sticking to Sweden, where he has known his whole life. Elanga has previously represented Sweden at U17, U19 and U21 levels.

Now, his impressive form for Manchester United has resulted in him being called up to the Swedish senior national team for the first time.

The 19-year-old has excelled at Old Trafford under the leadership of interim manager Ralf Rangnick and Sweden coach Janne Andersson has selected the teenager for his team’s decisive World Cup qualifiers.

Sweden will face the Czech Republic on March 24, with a ticket to Qatar at stake.
