Elite One: Alfred Meyong Returns To Renard To Deny Former Employers Canon Victory

Erstwhile Canon forward Alfred Meyong hunted his former employers as he scored a last minute equaliser for Stade Renard at the Reunification stadium against Canon.

Stage Renard trailed at the 18th minute when Canon took the lead through trailblazing forward and joint Elite One top scorer, Emmanuel Mahop. The striker scored his 8th of the season.

Stade Renard fought back and got an equaliser at the 42nd minute through Brice simdjo, who scored in his team’s second game in a row, after netting against PWD on game day 15.

Last season’s bronze medalists Canon poked their noses ahead yet again through forward Bertin Essama, and the center outfit were headed for all three points, before Alfred Meyong struck in borrowed time (90+4) to gift Renard a draw.

Stade Renard are 5th after the draw in group A with 20 points, while Canon are placed second with 25 points, 3 points behind leaders UMS.
